Hi guys, This is just a quick thread to let you know what is required when replacing the standard front solid disc rotors and strut assemblies to skyline vented ones. Start by unbolting the the strut tops and unbolting the flexi brake lines. remove all bolts retaining the strut assemblies to the steering rack and lever away from the lower ball joint assembly. R31 strut and disc assemlies will eventually bolt into this vehicle with some slight modifications. firstly make sure that you keep the skyline flexi lines with the struts as they will screw directly onto the bluebird ones. The strut top mounting holes on the vehicle need to be elongated aroung 4mm each. To do this place the strut top mounting plate off of the R31 strut on top of the vehicle mounting points and sit evenly, mark how far the adjusted needs to be by using a whole punch. Next use a 240v drill and a metal die grinding piece to elongate the holes, be patient and make sure you are need and straight as you only get one go at this. One this is done you will also need to trim the inner splash shield around 5mm off the edge to accomodate for the larger springs. The skyline bakes and struts should now just bolt up. Make sure that you use high strength loctite on the strut top bolts and you dont want them coming undone. Little bit of messing around but well worth it Have just recently finished this upgrade on my vehicle
